CENTRAL WORKSHOP

 

A modern workshop caters to the fabrication and product development needs of the students and staff of the various departments of the college.

The workshop has the following wings:

          1. Special Machine Shop

 

The Special Machine Shop has a number of center lathes, shaping machines, milling and drilling machines.

The Basic Machine Shop has a number of center lathes, shaping machines, milling and drilling machines.

Welding section has basic welding facilities (D.C and A.C welding units and welding torches) for joining ferrous and non-ferrous metals of medium thick and light sections.

Fitting and Sheet Metal Shop has adequate tools to carry out general specialized fitting operations on various metals. A 50-ton mechanical press with various controls, sheet and tube bending machines and mechanical shears are also available for carrying out varieties of sheet metal works.

Foundry section has basic facilities for mould making and testing the foundry sand properties.

Carpentry Shop has wood planning machine, circular saw machine and wood working lathes in addition to number of different special tools for carrying out regular and specialized operations.
