CAMPUS RULES AND CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS

 

In keeping with the tradition of the institution, all student of Pondicherry Engineering College are asked to maintain discipline and decorum in the campus and refrain from any activity that can tarnish the reputation of the institution. Violation of this will result in inviting disciplinary action under Act such as Pondicherry University/UGC/AICTE regulations.

 

CAMPUS:

  1. Ragging in any form or time is banned in the campus as well as in the hostel and all senior students are asked to adhere to this rule.

  2. Smoking and use of alcohol are strictly prohibited.

  3. Students are not allowed to use cell phone within academic boundaries/ or to keep cell phones in their bags inside the college.

  4. Pocession and use of mobile phones in the campus are to be strictly avoided.

  5. Students using the two wheelers are asked to limit the speed up to 20 km/hr and not not to have more than one pillion rider.

  6. All students are advised to maintain the environment clean and not to liter campus and not to pickup mango, jack fruit, cashew etc.,.

  7. Vehicles should be parked in the parking space only.

  8. Identity card, License and Driving License should always be kept by the students and produce on demand by the authorities.

  9. Students should come to the class room in a decent and presentable attire.  Dressing of students should be formal. Male students should wear shirt and full pants (Neat haircut with beard shaved) and female students should wear salvar kameez / chudithar with  thupatta / full sari.

  10. Writing on walls, toilets, roads and pasting of posters on the wall are strictly banned.

  11. College tuition fee, exam fee, hostel mess dues and other charges should be paid well in time to avoid any embarrassment.

  12. Do not indulge in any act of sexual harassment of any women.

  13. Do not bring any political influence in matter pertaining to your carrier.

  14. Discipline and decorum should be maintained in College function / Convocation / PECOFES / College Day / Sports Day etc., in which  V.V.I.Ps participate.

  15. Strike, Picketing, Gherao are totally banned in the campus.

  16. Use of Internet for the purpose other than academic related activities is banned.

EXAMINATION:

  1. Malpractice of any kind will not be allowed during the internal / University Examination.

  2. Students who indulge in copying from neighbors with Paper bits/Books/Notes/Calculators/Cell Phones etc., will be severely dealt with the prescribed University norms and rules as applicable for all University Examinations.

LABORATORIES:

  1. All students are asked to attend laboratory classes with full presentation.

  2. Prescribed dress code have to be maintained in respective labs.

  3. Records should be brought and instructions should be followed accordingly.

  4. A congenial atmosphere should be maintained in the laboratory classes.

  5. Misbehavior with students/Staff will not be entertained in labs and, if any, it will be seriously dealt with.

HOSTELS:

  1. Misbehavior of any kind in the mess with students / staff will not be allowed.

  2. Mess dues have to be paid in time and record should be maintained separately.

  3. Outside food is not allowed in the mess.

  4. Students stealing the belongings of other will be punished.

  5. Unauthorized guests should not be entertained in the hostel or the Mess.

  6. Smoking / use of alcohol are strictly prohibited in the hostel premises.

  7. Electrical and Electronics appliances (Water heater etc.,) should be use only after obtaining prior permission.
